About this seal

A personal seal carries one person's name and serves as their mark on documents. In China these are commonly square with the name in seal script or FangSong, though round versions exist. Individuals use them to sign for deliveries, approve internal documents, endorse forms and acknowledge receipts. Unlike the registered company seals, a personal name seal carries the authority of the individual rather than the organization.

Common uses

  • Signing for deliveries and acknowledging receipts
  • Approving internal forms and expense claims
  • Endorsing letters and personal correspondence
  • Artwork, calligraphy and collector's marks

How to create it

  1. Open the template — the personal name-seal layout is pre-applied.
  2. Replace the sample characters with the person's name.
  3. Choose a square or round frame and a seal-script or FangSong font.
  4. Set a compact size (around 15–25mm) to match a real name chop.
  5. Export a transparent PNG or SVG.

Frequently asked questions

Should a personal seal be square or round?

Both are common. Square name seals are traditional for individuals; the editor lets you switch shapes and try seal-script, FangSong or Kai fonts.

Can a personal seal replace a signature?

In many East Asian contexts a name seal carries the same weight as a signature for everyday documents, but high-stakes or legal use may require a registered seal. Check the requirements of the document.
